Puzzle maker - Finding the secret path!

Hi everyone!

In my opinion, there is not a single person in the world who doesn't like adventures, and even less in the case of children. Don't you think so? I remember when I was little I used to love discovering secret clues to find messages and magic places. I had even more fun when I was with my friends! This is exactly what Puzzlemaker offers us. Do you know this ICT tool?

This resource gives us the possibility to practice English promoting motivation and uncertainty in our students. In addition, we can create our own word searches, crosswords, mazes and other similar puzzles to print out and spend time solving them. What's more, I would like to point out that this is not just an app for teachers to use, as families and older pupils could also take advantage of it. If used for pedagogical purposes, it can promote active and meaningful learning in which students use their creativity and improve their level of linguistic competence. One of its great advantages is that you don't need to register to use it. Would you like to see an example? Remember that this is just one of all the options it offers!

I will separate the pupils of the 5th year of Primary Education into four groups. Each group will have to guess the secret message on their puzzle. Then, they will look for clues in the indicated place and each group will find a piece of paper from a map. When they put them together, they will discover that Santa's missing presents are in the school kitchen and notify him. This activity mainly works on speaking, as in small groups and in the whole group the students will have to discuss to find the clues and guide their classmates. It is not only important to listen to what we are told, but also to make ourselves understood and to structure our message well. Especially when we are Santa's helpers!

Do you like secret messages? How would you use Puzzlemaker in your classroom? Thank you for sharing your opinion.
